Bodicote Cricket Club is based in the
village of Bodicote, just South of Banbury in North Oxfordshire.
We run two Saturday teams that play in the South Northants Cricket League, a very well run league which has attracted teams from Milton Keynes to South Warwickshire. The teams will play in the Premier Division and Division Four in 2010. In addition we run a Wednesday evening side that play in the Brackley & District Midweek League. Midweek practice is held on Tuesday evenings, 6.15 pm at Bodicote's "other" club, Banbury CC which can be found just over the hedge. After matches and at teatime we go to our spiritual home, The Plough.
Our home ground is Kingsfield in White Post Road where cricket has been played since before the Second World War. The field was bequeathed to the village in the early 1960s and is managed, along with the village hall, by the Bodicote Welfare Fund.
As well as regular fixtures the club also organises a number of social events during the year including a long running Beaujolais Golf Challenge against Grendon Underwood CC each November. We also tour annually and through this have ensured the club appears in cricket's bible Wisden - see page 911 of the 1994 edition which notes we lost to Elizabeth College Guernsey in June 1993.
